Thames Reach is running a range of classes, workshops and training sessions to celebrate Adult Learners’ Week and the work of its Employment Academy in Camberwell.

Adult Learners' Week is a national celebration of lifelong learning starting on Monday June 15.

The subjects being covered are diverse and include creative writing, film-making, bike maintenance, languages, knitting and beginners’ guitar.

There will be film and theatre workshops and an ESOL course for people looking to improve their English language skills.

Foreign language courses on offer include Polish and Portuguese.

Employment Academy tours on Tuesday and Friday afternoon will give the public the chance to see inside and learn about the history of the building which stems from Edwardian times.

Catherine Parson, Thames Reach’s operational support manager, said: “It’s a wonderful opportunity for the local community to learn a diverse and interesting range of subjects.”
