Hexagon Housing Association residents take part in a recent Job Club session

22 April 2013

A new job club that will help Southwark residents find work is being launched at the Thames Reach Employment Academy this week.

The Southwark Hexagon Job Club aims to help long-term unemployed Hexagon Housing Association residents who are based in the borough to develop the skills they need to get back into work. These include computer training, using the internet to search for jobs, CV development workshops and mock interviews.

Hexagon’s Employment Project Co-ordinator Magda Tyra said: “The Employment Academy is the perfect location for us to run this new service. Hexagon shares the Employment Academy’s goal to help long term unemployed and formerly homeless men and women to get back into work.”

Thames Reach’s Employment and Resettlement Area Manager Monica Geraghty said: “We’re really excited to welcome Hexagon staff and residents to the Employment Academy for the new job club. We hope it’s the beginning of a long lasting relationship with Hexagon.”
