Formerly homeless men and women and the long term unemployed were given a taste of the work opportunities on offer at Thames Reach’s Employment Academy in Camberwell which is due to open later this year.

Approximately 150 people attended the conference for the people using the services of Thames Reach which took place on Wednesday, November 20.

A series of workshops and stalls offered advice on boosting people’s self- confidence, developing new skills and taking the first steps to finding work.

Bill Tidnam, Thames Reach director, said:
“This was a fantastic event that showed again that the people we work with in Thames Reach have so much to offer employers and the community. I’m particularly proud of the work of our Conference Makers, volunteers from amongst our service user and staff group that organised the event and made the day such a success”
