Southwark Council held their annual apprenticeship fair at the Thames Reach Employment Academy last week, with over 100 people attending the event.

The aim of the fair was to attract new apprentices for Southwark Council and partner organisations and highlight work opportunities for local people.

Attendees had to complete a formal assessment in order to attend the event. A wide range of teams at the council set up tables with details of the apprenticeship placements on offer.

Grace Warr, 20, said: “My aim is to find work with the council in a customer services or business administration role. I’ve met some great people and have lots to follow up on, so it’s been a brilliant day.”

Employment Academy facilities and marketing manager Anneke Ziemen said: “It’s been fantastic welcoming such a diverse and enthusiastic group of people to the Employment Academy. Their drive and determination is an inspiration.”
