An employment advisory service helping people tackling substance misuse issues to get back into work has moved into the Thames Reach Employment Academy in Camberwell.

The team form part of Southwark Works, a specialist employment advice service for disadvantaged and unemployed Southwark residents.

The employment advisors work with people in an informal way, helping them to develop their IT, literacy, numeracy, team working and people skills to support them back into work.

Gary Rickets is the project manager for the service. He said: “It’s brilliant to be here at the Employment Academy. It’s the perfect space for us and we’re working in the same building as a host of other agencies helping a similar range of vulnerable and unemployed people.”
